All our tips for deeply hydrated hands

All our tips for deeply hydrated hands

Coralie Techer

Our hands are subjected to our daily lives. Household chores, gardening, hydroalcoholic gel, manual work, etc. Our poor little hands definitely need attention and care! To avoid dry skin or any unwanted calluses, here are our good tips.

How to take care of damaged hands?

We have every good reason in the world to take care of our hands .

1/ Hand scrub: what for?

Our hands are overworked, they get damaged and dry out very easily. Fortunately, with small gestures like exfoliation, we can quickly restore their shine and softness. Regular exfoliation will:

  • To get rid of dead skin.
  • To enhance the moisturizing effect of the hand cream.
  • To prevent the appearance of brown spots.
  • To refine the skin texture.

Which scrub should you choose?

It is advisable to opt for a scrub designed specifically for your skin type. It is best to avoid exfoliating with aggressive formulas.

To prepare a homemade scrub (and therefore know what it contains):

  • A teaspoon of sugar or coffee grounds (for exfoliation)
  • A teaspoon of olive oil (for a softening effect)
  • A teaspoon of honey of your choice (for better hydration)

2/ How to moisturize dry hands?

For young, beautiful and nourished hands, hydration is a necessary step! You can opt for rich materials such as shea butter or vegetable oils such as olive oil, rich in oleic acid, ultra beneficial for the skin. How to do it? Simply pour a small amount into the palm of your hands and massage them for a long time to allow the active ingredients to penetrate the skin.

Good to know: coconut oil is also an excellent oil, rich in vitamins A and E as well as lauric acid, and it also has the advantage of being light and easily penetrates the epidermis of your skin.

In the case of a cream chosen in a supermarket, pharmacy or elsewhere, it is important to pay attention to its composition in order to respect your skin as much as possible!

Some of the controversial ingredients to avoid when buying your cream include:

  • BHT ”: This is an endocrine disruptor that irritates the eyes, skin and lungs. It is generally used in place of BHA, another endocrine disruptor classified as a probable carcinogen by the “IARC”.
  • Formaldehyde ”: In high doses, this ingredient can be carcinogenic to humans. According to health organizations, it can be used in small amounts.
NB : It should be noted that in sensitive people, it can irritate or even damage the skin.
  • Phenoxyethanol ”: Phenoxyethanol is considered toxic to the blood and liver by many safety organizations, as well as the National Agency for the Safety of Medicines and Health Products (ANSM).

In general, the French body advises against the use of this ingredient in cosmetic products. But be careful when you find yourself abroad!

Our selection of natural masks for better skin hydration

Our hands are subjected to the full force of various external aggressions. To preserve their youthful capital, we must think about moisturizing them deeply and regularly with a mask.

Natural mask to nourish your hands:

Olive oil is our number 1 friend! Known for its nourishing and healing properties for the skin, olive oil can be combined with an essential oil for even more effectiveness. Lavender oil, for example, to cleanse and soften even more. This magical mask to leave on will have a rejuvenating effect on the skin, for brand new hands in no time!

How to apply it?

In a bowl: add an egg yolk, 2 drops of lavender essential oil, three tablespoons of olive oil, add a tablespoon of honey.

This mask can be applied twice a month to dry hands. Leave the mixture on for about twenty minutes, then rinse with lukewarm water.

How to fade dark spots?

The older we get, the more our skin tends to lose elasticity. Wrinkles take over and pigment spots begin to appear on surfaces such as the hands.

These famous spots, their appearance is partly due to prolonged exposure to the sun. UV rays are the primary cause of premature aging of the epidermis. Not to mention the genetic factor, which plays a very important role. Brown spots can therefore appear more or less early depending on the person.

Natural masks to fade dark spots:

  • A fruit mask: rub the spots with a piece of pineapple. Let it dry. Then rinse and apply a moisturizer or argan oil.
  • A mask based on cider vinegar: mix equal amounts of water and cider vinegar. Apply this mask in the evening. Reapply twice a week.
  • Parsley mask: boil parsley, let the preparation cool. Soak a cotton pad and leave on your hands for ten minutes, rinse with warm water.

Taking care of your nails:

Nails are a bit like the charm of our hands. That's why it is essential to take care of them.

To have beautiful, healthy nails, you need to make sure to choose nail polishes made from natural ingredients that are environmentally friendly and healthy.

From time to time, it is good to pamper them by applying castor oil (fortifies) in massage for invigorated and nourished nails.

Which vegetable oil for beautiful nails?

  • Sweet almond oil : is a restorative, regenerating oil, its rich vitamin E content helps accelerate cellular repair.
  • Castor oil : it is known to accelerate the regrowth of hair and nails too.

Take breaks between nail polish applications:

We all want to have perfect nails all the time. But just like the skin, nails also need to breathe! It is essential to let them get some air and avoid having manicures after manicures. This practice will have the opposite effect you want: brittle, yellowed and, in the worst case, falling off nails!

Use a non-acetone nail polish remover:

Why avoid acetone-based nail polish removers? First, you need to understand what acetone is. It is a solvent whose degreasing effect is used to dissolve nail polish resins... but also glues and paints! It is used in different industries such as the automotive sector.

Very harmful, it destroys the lipid film that protects and nourishes our nails. Because of acetone, the nails are in direct contact with external aggressions. Results? Brittle nails, which split and dry out.

On the other hand, the acetone-free nail polish remover contains ethyl acetate, which is also characterized by its degreasing effect but less aggressive. It removes the varnish gently while leaving its natural protection to the nail.

How to gently disinfect your hands?

With the covid health crisis, it is essential to make sure to keep your hands clean. Unfortunately, most hydroalcoholic gels on the market dry out and attack the hands. At ROSEGOLD we have found the solution, with “ ROSECLEAN ” a nourishing lotion with antiseptic properties!

Our lotion is enriched with organic sunflower oil, very rich in omega-6 (linoleic acid), an essential active ingredient that deeply moisturizes while strengthening cells against external aggressions.
