What You Need to Know About Eyelash Glue

False eyelash glue is a glue specially designed to attach false eyelashes to the eyelids without damage! It is always good to know what you are putting on your skin. Have you ever wondered what this famous glue contains? Most false eyelash glues are made of ethyl acrylate or cyanoacrylate, which are synthetic polymers resistant to water and cosmetic products. You need at least that to be able to wear false eyelashes without fear of losing them in the rain, through sweat or because of eyeshadow. For people with sensitive eyes, there are suitable glues, latex-free or hypoallergenic. On the aesthetic side, false eyelash glue is completely transparent to ensure its discretion, but some brands can offer a black one to accentuate an "eyeliner" effect.

How to remove false eyelashes without damaging them?

To remove false eyelashes without damaging them, it's simple but above all it requires a minimum of patience and dexterity, just like for their application! (we explain how to apply false eyelashes ). Make sure you have all the equipment available, namely: a gentle and special false eyelash remover (especially not the one for nail polish!), vegetable oil (like sweet almond oil), or a makeup remover, to dissolve the glue, a cotton swab, several cotton pads, a makeup brush and the small box of false eyelashes to apply them safely so that you can reuse them later.

False eyelashes are removed in stages, here are the steps:

  1. Prepare glue remover: It is important to use the right product to dissolve false eyelash glue, such as a gentle glue remover specially designed for false eyelashes, vegetable oil, oil-based makeup remover. Avoid using harsh chemicals or hot water, as this can damage the false eyelashes and irritate your eyeball.

  2. Apply the remover (any type) to the false eyelashes: Gently apply the remover to the base of the false eyelashes using a cotton swab, cotton pad, or makeup brush. Be careful not to get any in your eyes.

  3. Leave on: Leave the remover (whatever it is) on for about a minute. This will loosen the glue and make it easier to remove the false eyelashes.

  4. Remove false eyelashes gently: To remove false eyelashes, start at the outer corner of the eye and gently pull towards the center. Do not pull too hard, as this can damage the natural lashes or the skin around the eye.

  5. Remove any remaining glue residue: If there is any glue left on your natural lashes or skin, the best solution is to use a cotton swab soaked in nail polish remover to gently remove any remaining glue. Again, be careful not to rub too hard to avoid irritating the skin.

  6. Clean your eyes: Gently wash your eyes with warm water and neutral soap to remove any remaining remover or glue and ensure clean lashes. Then apply a moisturizer to soothe the skin, your eye contour care to give it a boost of radiance and an eyelash serum to bring vigor to the natural lashes.

Be careful not to pull or rub too hard to remove the false eyelashes. This can damage the natural eyelashes or the skin around the eye. If you have difficulty removing the false eyelashes, consult a professional for help. Another method is sometimes recommended, that of steam which dilutes the glue... Be careful, we remind you that the eye area is an extremely sensitive area, it is better to avoid the hot steam technique at this level.

What to Avoid When Trying to Remove False Eyelash Glue from Your Eyes

When you apply the different steps listed above to remove false eyelash glue residue from your eyelids, avoid at all costs doing so by vigorously rubbing the area, this could damage the eyelid and accelerate the aging process of the skin and therefore accelerate the appearance of wrinkles. On the other hand, avoid pulling on the false eyelashes to remove them. This is a bad idea that could cost you a few tears! In order to protect your eye as much as possible from the risk of accidents, never use tweezers to remove your false eyelashes from your eyes. And then, you risk tearing off your natural eyelashes... that would be a shame!
